Empty Homes Supervisor

At Connexus, every empty home represents an opportunity for someone to find a safe, affordable place to build a life in. We are looking to recruit two Empty Homes Supervisors to support delivery of a targeted Empty Homes Recovery Programme. The role will be focused on bringing long-term empty properties back into use quickly, safely and to a high standard.

Working within a contractor-led delivery model, you will oversee a portfolio of void properties, ensuring works are completed to specification, within agreed timescales and budgets, and in line with Connexus standards. You will manage empty homes through the full programme lifecycle, from inspection and specification through to completion and handover. You will play a critical role in ensuring quality, compliance, cost control and delivery pace across a high-volume programme of work. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of empty homes through inspection, repair, completion and handover.
  • Specify works and carry out pre-, post- and quality inspections.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring quality, compliance and value for money.
  • Monitor programme performance against timescale, cost and turnaround targets.
  • Manage budgets, variations and financial controls across allocated properties.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, CDM requirements and Connexus standards.
  • Work closely with Lettings, Housing and operational teams to return homes to customers quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to programme reporting and performance monitoring.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven programme environment and confidently manage contractors and achieve strong delivery performance.

Essential

  • Experience in housing, construction, repairs or property maintenance.
  • Experience inspecting, specifying and managing property works
  • Experience managing contractors and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM requirements.
  • Experience using SOR schedules and managing costs effectively.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience managing void properties or planned maintenance programmes.
  • Knowledge of social housing compliance requirements.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a construction or building-related discipline.
