This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We're looking for an experienced Governance Officer to support our Head of Governance & Risk and help ensure that Connexus continues to maintain strong and effective governance arrangements.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with Board Members, Committees, senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation. You'll play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our governance framework, helping to ensure that Board and Committee meetings are well organised, decisions are effectively recorded, regulatory obligations are met, and good governance practices are embedded throughout the organisation.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the Board and Committee cycle, including forward planning, agendas, papers, minutes, action logs and follow-up.
  • Provide high-quality secretariat and governance support to Board Members, Committees, senior leaders and colleagues across Connexus.
  • Maintain the Board portal, governance records, key registers, statutory and regulatory returns, and contract execution processes.
  • Support the review and improvement of governance arrangements, policies, standing orders and wider governance, risk and policy activities.
  • Lead or support Board appraisal, effectiveness reviews, Non-Executive Director induction and development, declarations of interest and conflicts advice.
  • Oversee Assets & Liabilities Register administration and provide assurance reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working with senior stakeholders and delivering high-quality governance support.

Who We're Looking For

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience supporting Boards, Committees and Non-Executive Directors, including papers, minutes, action logs and governance records.
  • Strong written, verbal and report-writing skills, with the ability to complete statutory and regulatory returns accurately and on time.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy governance environment.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and good governance practice.
  • You'll hold a recognised governance-related qualification, such as CGI Associate/Fellow status, Solicitor qualification, or ILEX qualification.
